The Kanata Nordic cross country ski club located at the Wesley Clover Parks in Ottawa has agreed to a pilot project for the 2015/16 season to allow approved Mush Larose members access to the cross-country ski trails on Wednesday evenings for 1-dog skijoring. The intent of the pilot project is to offer Mush Larose members interested in racing new more challenging trails for training; and to demonstrate that skijoring teams and cross-country skiers can successfully share trail systems. If successful it may open up other opportunities in the future.
To create a super positive first impression, participants and their dogs must have solid skills and be good ambassadors for the sport. If you are interested, please contact Blair Carroll atblaircarroll@hotmail.com.
Skiers must be members of both Mush Larose and Kanata Nordic for the 2015/16 season. It is recommended to buy a single day pass to try the trails out without your dog in the light of day before buying a season pass to come on Wednesday nights with your dog.
