First of all, Russland Road is now open.
Skijored the west trails this morning – 1st, 4th, ditches, JGL and parking lot bypass. All of these were packed down and in good shape except for Parking Lot Bypass – which was very soft. No bare spots, but the snow layer is a little thin in places. My ski poles hit gravel on Indian Creek Road between JGL and the bypass. North entrance to the bypass was very mushy and torn up. A few sledders were out – Forestry put a large log at the end of the parking lot that returning sledders had to negotiate or use the bypass.
For those who don’t know, there are new fatbike trails in the forest that cross the west sledding trails in many places. Lots of bikers out today, so be aware.
