The parking this morning was somewhat icy, but not a skating rink. The western trails were mushy in spots, especially on 1st, but not as bad as expected considering the weather we have had. JGL, End Loop, Malamute Loop and Conc 11 were in pretty good shape. Very pretty in the early morning mist. Bypass coverage is too thin to take much traffic. 3rd has rocks here and there that is deadly to runners. Moose and 10/11 are closed and messy. We did get some abrasions on some paws from the sharp newly formed ice crystals, so booties on softer paws would have been better. Given the forecast, I expect similar conditions tomorrow. A bit icy in the morning, very wet and granular by afternoon.
