Despite the need to cancel the event because of freezing rain later than forecast, there were many teams who braved the drive up at the forest today. The trail is as yet ungroomed, but with only 5-10 cm of extra snow on top of the grooming from Friday it was very passable for bigger sled teams or lighter drivers – a tougher slog for skis I would think. We travelled on most of the western trails and found them good. I expect the eastern ones would be the same.
The road on the way in was not plowed. Again with only 5-10 cm of new snow it was passable even for 2 wheel drive, but likely easier with 4-wheel drive to get in and out of the ravine before the parking.
