Saturday trail report.
Had a great ride yesterday – went out on Moose Trail, 10, Gun Club, and back in on 10-11. Trails were in good shape! Just a reminder that Swamp Trail is closed (entrances are taped off). -James

All your trails are done. Conditions are very good. Nick
Both Gun Club and Tower Loop had been groomed, but I only skijored on Gun Club today around 2:30 in the afternoon. Snow coverage was good, although there are twigs poking through the trail throughout. Some debris on the trail as well, especially in the southeast corner near the ravine.…
All the trails are groomed and in really good shape. Moose is good, 10th conc is good and no rocks are showing. Last part of 10-11 is a little rough but should be ok for your race. The blocks off gun club south are removed. – Nick
Nick groomed: Moose Trail (decent shape); 10-11 Trail (rough near the snowmobile trail intersection); 11th Concession (good), End loop (very good); Malamute (good); Gun Club (one pass in the middle – passable). He will move the blocks to access Gun Club and groom that entrance only until there is enough…
Unlike yesterday’s slow and sticky conditions, the colder temps today made the trails fast with just enough snow on top of the icy base to maintain control. The dogs loved the faster conditions, which made for a very nice skijor on the trails.
The western trails were pretty nice this morning. 1-3 cm of sticky snow on top of solid ice, but stuck to it, so pretty good. A few corners were more like rough ice (back of End Loop in particular), but still pretty safe. Enjoy!
Note form Steve (forestry): I groomed the western trails today (not 10-11 or Moose). Conditions are pretty good but the snow didn’t stick to the ice underneath so it is still pretty slick in places. Maybe it will improve over night. I don’t think I will have time to groom…
Trails were pretty much the same as yesterday, a bit better with another centimetre of fresh snow. My only update would be the north corner of End Loop is smooth ice which even the dogs slip on, so take particular care there. Dogs loved the cool temperature and easy sliding.
Trails today were very hard ice with a light snow covering glued to the surface. Footing is hard and fast, but the dogs had a decent grip. Most corners are fast, but ok for experienced sledders. Several corners are very icy: 4th to Ditches, north back corner of JGL, north…
