CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS!
Timers (2 per event), Set-up (1 or 2), Take Down (1 or 2). Races can’t happen without volunteers, so please volunteer to help when you are not racing, or bring someone with you who can. Please let us know what position you’d prefer by Monday February 3. As much as volunteering on the day is appreciated, we really need to plan in advance to be able to guarantee a quality event that we can all enjoy. Volunteer Coordinator Events@mushlarose.ca
REGISTRATION
Race fee $15 for the day, in addition to a paid seasonal Mush Larose membership, or weekend membership: https://mushlarose.ca/membership. Everyone must pre-register on-line to participate in this event: https://mushlarose.ca/event-registration/. Members will receive an email when the registration form goes live. Registration deadline: Feb 5 at midnight. Should you have any questions or difficulties with the registration process please contact events@mushlarose.ca for assistance.
The schedule will depend on how many teams register, and will be emailed to the participants prior to the event. Events will be held in the above order starting at 9 am.
Race meeting notes will be emailed in advance – this is a MUST read. There will be a password in the notes that you must know to prove you have read them. Anyone who doesn’t know the password will not be allowed to race. Reminder: this is a fun race, please be kind, helpful and understanding with less experienced racers.
PROOF OF DOG VACCINATIONS
All dogs must be vaccinated for Rabies and Parvo/Distemper, or have a vet certified exception to run on Mush Larose trails, or at Mush Larose events. If you have not already done so this season, send proof of vaccination to sledding@mushlarose.ca at least 3 days prior to the race.
PRIZES

RACE INFORMATION
Any changes or cancellation notice will be posted online at www.MushLarose.ca. Please check before you leave home, especially if conditions are questionable.
Racers under age 18 must wear a helmet and eye protection, and their parent or guardian must sign an extra waiver. Racers must be a minimum of 16 years of age, or be pre-approved by the race organizer. All sleds must have a sled bag to hold an injured dog if necessary, a snow hook sufficient to hold the team and a leash or snub-line. Dogs are required to be in harness, and should be wearing a flat non-choking collar. Any participant may be disqualified if their equipment, ability to safely manage their team, or their treatment of the dogs is deemed unacceptable by the Race Marshall.
Avoid blocking access to the start line, or distracting the teams that are waiting to leave. No loose dogs on site. Please clean up after your dogs when you are not racing. There is no water on site. Please bring your own.
This race is dedicated to recreational mushers and dog-powered sports enthusiasts and is open to all breeds. It also serves as an opportunity for experienced dog mushers to enjoy the trail and share their knowledge. Most importantly it is a chance to “get working dogs off unemployment” and have a great time socializing with our dog sledding friends.
Please be aware that these dogs are not all house pets. Ask the owner before you approach any dog, be respectful of the proper way to approach a dog.
