Unfortunately Mother Nature is not on our side – due to the forecasted rain overnight Saturday into Sunday and the potential for freezing rain, the Sunday November 25th race has been postponed to Sunday December 2nd.
So long as we get a bit of snow next week, Nick is confident that despite the rain we should be able to offer snow trails next weekend. We hope to offer 5.4 km 4-dog sled (open and AKC/CKC), 5.4 km 1-or-2-dog skijor, and 2-dog 3.1 km sled.
Some good news however – all the trails off the 11th are groomed including the deep ravine and Nick reports that conditions (as of this afternoon) are good! Please enjoy a sled/ski on Saturday before the rain starts. With an above zero forecast late Saturday and the warm ground underneath, we expect the trails to be quite soft on Sunday and Monday. Please do not run on soft trails, this will leave us with something to work with for next weekend.
