The parking area is somewhat icy, especially in some areas, but not a skating rink as it has been graded. We will bring a bag of sand for public areas, but we only have one bag. Tried to get more, but frustratingly, there was none available. Please bring whatever you want for footing around your own vehicle.
Trails today were hard and fast with a lot of pine needles and small branches. Super fast and fun for sledding. Seb says ok for skijor too, though the bits on the trail in some places were not ideal; another skier said he was having some trouble catching an edge because of the hardness. Likely depends on skill level and equipment, so be forewarned that it is not ideal ski conditions for everyone.
